Wilno - Canada's 1st Polish Settlement

Last summer my husband, Dave went for a bike ride to Wilno, Ontario, the 1st Polish settlement in Canada. There's a monument dedicated to the resistance fighters during WWII in Warsaw. Dave said the monument looks like a bombed building...but get a load of this, the monument is dedicated to the Boy scouts and Girl scouts in Poland at the time...they were the resistance!! Each step leading up to the monument has
a street name from Warsaw.
The children hid in the sewers, and the City of Warsaw donated an actual sewer cover for the monument. It actually looks like a building that's been bombed.
He didn't have his camera at the time, but will take pictures next time.
